Meet Dr. Tyler Stiegemeier (Carrboro, NC)

Tyler Stiegemeier, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He joined the Carrboro Family Vision team in July 2019 and brings extensive experience in glaucoma management, eye teaming issues, prism correction, and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Stiegemeier is known for helping patients understand the reasons behind their visual or medical conditions. He is the practice’s go-to doctor for individuals with complex vision needs and provides care ranging from acute eye issues, such as infections and allergies, to long-term management of conditions like glaucoma or irregular corneas requiring specialty contact lenses. Many patients who have moved away continue returning to him for his expertise and compassionate approach.

Outside the office, Dr. Stiegemeier enjoys gardening, cooking, and baking, often surprising the staff with homemade treats, including his specialty cupcakes. He is an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and has a particular talent for growing both outdoor and indoor plants. He lives in Chapel Hill with his wife, Lori, and their two children, Madeline and Miles.
